The M39 is the T3 semi-auto rifle — same fire mode as the SAR but with significantly more damage per shot and a bigger mag (20 vs 16). The endgame click-aim weapon for players who don't want to deal with AK or LR-300 auto recoil. Common pick for late-wipe defenders and mid-range PvP.
Semi-auto with rifle damage and easy recoil — the DMR most people sleep on. Very strong at range if you can hit heads.

Different roles. AK is auto, 30-round, harder recoil but higher DPS in skilled hands. M39 is semi-auto, 20-round, easier to control. M39 wins on accessibility; AK wins on raw output.
M39: 20-round mag, semi-auto, ~50 body damage. Bolt: 4-round internal mag, manual cycling, ~80+ body damage. Bolt is the sniper; M39 is the precision rifle for sustained engagements.
