God Clone Planner

How it works

Set your target
Choose how many G and Y genes. Any combo of 3+3 is a god clone โ€” order doesn't matter at all.

Pick your planter
3ร—3 gives 8 neighbour slots for maximum influence. Triangle is 4 seeds โ€” good for early wipe.

Add your seeds
Type each seed's 6-letter genome. The layout is optimised automatically.

Plant in order
Plant the centre seed first (chosen by the planner from your collection), then the surrounding seeds. You need at least 2 seeds total.

Clone first
Always clone the centre plant before harvesting. Never lose those genetics.

What is a Rust God Clone?

A god clone is a Rust plant with the perfect GGGYYY genome โ€” three growth genes (G) and three yield genes (Y), with no W (water hog), X (empty) or H (hardy) bringing it down. A god clone grows the fastest, produces the most cloth, berries or scrap per harvest, and reproduces clones with identical genetics. Building a hemp, berry or tea farm around god clones is the difference between scraping by and pumping out 1,000+ cloth per cycle.

How the planner finds your route

The God Clone Planner takes the seeds you already have, scores their genes, and works out the shortest crossbreeding path to GGGYYY. It checks every combination of 8 parent plants surrounding 1 centre seed, calculates each gene's vote weight, and ranks the routes by their probability of producing all-G or all-Y at every locus. If a single round can't reach GGGYYY, the planner automatically searches Gen 2 โ€” the offspring of the first round become parents for a second.

How to use it

  • Add your seeds. Type or paste each 6-letter genome (e.g. GYWXGY). The planner accepts up to 16 starting seeds.
  • Run the planner. It outputs a 3ร—3 layout showing exactly which seed goes in each slot.
  • Plant and clone. Place parents in the 8 outer slots and your candidate centre seed. Once the centre crosses, clone it before harvest to lock in the new genetics.
  • Repeat for Gen 2 if needed. If you didn't hit GGGYYY in one round, plant the new clones and run another crossbreed.

Tips for breeding faster

Run the Seed Grader first to filter out useless D-grade seeds before you start. The planner works best with at least 6 strong parents (S, A or B grade). Avoid mixing W and X genes into a breeding round โ€” they win ties and can ruin a near-perfect clone. Why GGGYYY beats every other genome

In Rust, G genes give roughly +30% growth speed each (capped at 90% with three) and Y genes give roughly +15% yield each (capped at 45% with three). A GGGYYY plant grows ~2ร— faster and produces ~1.45ร— as much per harvest as a plain seed โ€” that compounds across hundreds of cycles. There is no genome that beats GGGYYY for hemp, blueberries, pumpkin or corn.
