Boat Shop vendors at any Fishing Village (Small or Large). Solo Submarine costs 200 scrap, Duo costs 300 scrap. Both come pre-loaded with 50 Low Grade Fuel.
About 45 metres maximum. The depth gauge in the cockpit shows your current depth. Going deeper than 45m starts taking damage from water pressure.
Stock torpedoes via inventory slot (Tab key when seated), then aim and press Left Mouse Button to fire. Duo submarines hold up to 100 torpedoes; solo holds fewer. Standard torpedoes are the default; Sticky Torpedoes attach to vehicles for delayed detonation.
Solo is cheaper (200 scrap vs 300), has less HP (500 vs 700), and seats 1 player. Duo seats 2 (driver + gunner role) and has bigger torpedo storage. For exploration / single player runs, Solo is fine; for torpedo raiding / Underwater Lab clearing as a team, Duo is better.
Yes — submarines are surface-capable. You can drive across the ocean on the surface using Shift to stay at depth 0, then dive when you reach your destination. This is how most players use them — surface for travel, dive for objective.
