How to brew tea in Rust

Tea is brewed at a Mixing Table or Cooking Workbench using berries you've farmed. Every tea has three tiers — basic, advanced and pure — that scale by how many same-colour berries you put in. Pure-tier teas are the only ones worth using in a serious farm.

Tea types and their berries

Pure tier vs basic tier

A basic tea takes 1 berry and gives a small buff. A pure tea takes 4 same-colour berries and gives a large buff that lasts longer. Pure tea is the standard — basic and advanced are essentially worthless on a wiped server. The calculator above shows how many of each tier you can make from your current berry stockpile.

How long do tea buffs last?

Pure-tier buffs last about 10 minutes of in-game time. That's long enough for a raid run or a recycler grind, but not long enough to last a full base session. Plan to drink tea right before the activity, not in advance.

Stacking rules

You can stack one tea per type at the same time — drink ore tea, max-health tea and wood tea simultaneously and all three buffs apply. You cannot stack two of the same type at different tiers. Drinking a pure tea after a basic immediately replaces the basic.

What to brew first on a wipe

Most farmers prioritise max-health tea first (combat survivability), then pure ore tea for sulfur runs. If you're playing a building/farming role, brew pure scrap tea before recycler trips. Run the numbers through the Yield Calculator to see exactly how much extra you'll net per session.
